1-1 Voice Lessons

Say goodbye to what you thought voice lessons were—in our studio, play comes first.

Let’s make one thing clear: if your music making ain’t fun, something is definitely wrong.

Sure, committing to growth as a musician takes discipline and it’s not always going to feel easy—after all, struggle is natural when learning any new skill. But joy should always be present in the process, which is why, in our studio…

  • We make lots of weird sounds with our voices. We embrace voice cracks as things to learn from, not fear.

  • We get veryyyy creative. Imagine spending your lesson time going after the things that are important to you, whether it’s songwriting, finding your own unique sound, or experimenting with your acting skills so you can nail your next musical audition. Whatever you’re working on, we encourage you to experiment and flex your creative muscles in lessons.

  • We encourage autonomy—aka we tailor your lessons to exactly what it is that you want to work on. This is why our instructors ask, “What do you want to work on today?” at the beginning of each lesson. Our instructors don’t follow lesson plans blindly, we adapt each lesson to your goal for that day, whether you’re preparing for an audition or are having a rough day and just want to rock out with a song of your choice.

What are lessons like?

  • You might be a great fit for lessons with Veronica if you:

    • Want support navigating performance anxiety, perfectionism, or mindset blocks around singing.
If your inner critic tends to get loud, or if nerves, self-doubt, or pressure show up when you sing, Veronica offers tools to help you meet those experiences with more compassion and curiosity. Lessons often include strategies to help you feel safer, calmer, and more present while singing.

    • Value reflection, mindfulness, and tools that help you feel more grounded and confident in your voice
If you enjoy understanding why something works—and like having practical tools you can use outside of lessons—Veronica’s approach emphasizes awareness, reflection, and building trust in your own sensations and instincts as a singer.

    • Are looking for a teacher who blends technical work with emotional awareness and self-trust
Lessons with Veronica support both the mechanics of singing and the emotional side of being a vocalist, helping you develop a sound that feels authentic, expressive, and genuinely yours.

  • You might be a great fit for lessons with Rosie if you:

    • Want to strengthen your overall musicianship alongside your vocal technique. Rosie loves helping singers develop skills that support them beyond the lesson room. In addition to vocal work, she can incorporate elements like music theory, sight-singing, and ear training to help you feel more fluent and confident as a musician.

    • Love working across genres and want a teacher who brings versatility and curiosity into the room
With experience spanning classical, choral, funk, rock, bluegrass, and contemporary styles, Rosie approaches each genre as an opportunity to explore and learn. Lessons encourage experimentation and flexibility while still supporting healthy technique.

    • Are a student who enjoys structure, clear goals, and learning tools you can apply independently
Rosie’s lessons are organized and intentional, helping students understand what they’re working on and why. If you like leaving lessons with clear takeaways and tools you can practice on your own, her teaching style may be a great match.

Here’s what you won’t get with us:

  • Instructors that will force you to practice. Now before you start freaking out, saying, “How am I supposed to make progress if someone’s not forcing me to practice?!” or, “But my child needs someone to make them practice!!!” let us explain: we believe that a successful student-teacher relationship is built on mutual trust and understanding. Our studio works with each student to design a practice routine that works for their schedule, not the other way around. We believe that when students have the combination of structured practice + an instructor who encourages them with compassion, students are more successful. And our 100% success rate (yes, ALL of our students, past and present have made significant progress!) speaks for itself.

  • Mandatory requirements to perform in studio recitals/events. Why? Because we understand that each student is on their own path, and some students really struggle with performance anxiety. Obviously, we work in lessons to release some of that anxiety, but we encourage students to make the decision that works best for them.

  • Cookie cutter lessons where you’re treated as just another student. We cannot emphasize this enough: lessons are tailored to YOU! We value being fully present for our students, adapting to each moment of your lesson with activities and insights that are designed to help you succeed.
